Modern Warfare 2?
Friday, 06 March 2009

Written by Dwayne M.,

Another leak in the game world has come. Atleast, we think so, as another list has leaked which might include the features which will be included in the next instalment of the CoD4 game, probably named Modern Warfare 2.

The game is said to bring in various new gametypes, various new weapons with a total list count of 35, and an eventual deal of airplanes and airstrikes. This might make the game look a bit more like BF2, and it surely isn't warmly welcomed by the competitive gamers.

The complete list which states features which may be included in the game, can be found below:

- Vehicles will be in MW2
    - M16 will return, using stopping power will only be OHK at head, neck, and torso (abdomen, limbs, and hands/feet will not)
    - Ak47 and M4 will return, unknown if there are any changes
    - M40 will return, ACOG damage boost will be fixed
    - Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 will not return
    - There are more unknown weapons that will not return
    - New sniper rifle: SR25M (United states forces)
    - New Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4 equivelant)
    - New Assault rifle: L85A2 (United Kingdom forces)
    - Total weapons in multiplayer are said to be around 35
    - Favourite Modern warfare 1 maps will return
    - Helicopters, air strikes, UAV will return
    - Red dot sightings will come in different shapes for multiplayer (circular, square, original)
    - Snipers will have special grass camouflage (As seen in Modern warfare 1's campaign)
    - All perks will return from MW except eavesdrop and others will be altered
    - All gametypes will return from MW and all will have hardcore versions
    - New gametype: Secure (Call of duty version of capture the flag, however you capture the enemy's Intel)
    - New gametype unconfirmed name, similar to search and destroy, however instead of trying to plant a bomb, you try to kill a specified enemy Soldier customization for each class (and each country)
    - Sniper with silencers will NOT be in multiplayer
    - There are NO bots in local multiplayer
    - Similar version to Nazi Zombies, however details are unknown
    - NO guest players online, 1 player per console
    - Killcam save feature
    - There is blood and gore
    - Offline/Online Co-op
    - Story takes place in the Middle East
    - Role as US marines return
    - Ken Lally voice work in campaign
    - Release is set for sometime in November
    - New army tags will be available to add different elements in campaign (similar to halo skulls)
    - Campaign-only weapons

Only time can answer whether this is true or not.

CoD4 on the move
Sunday, 15 February 2009

Written by Dwayne M.,

After a valentine's day which was hopefully great for everyone, its time to set back and evaluate what has happened over the past few weeks in the CoD4 scene, which saw a lack and a dead heap of news other than team changes.

Various teams have returned to CoD4 which had were left in the deep at the end of 2008. Sweden had seen the founding of a newborn talented team which is seen to possibly get a new spot in the top of the leagues. Infused announced it has attracted a new team with relatively talented players - set as a good move - however results are yet to be proven.

The TEK9 forums however featured a post by vanner which deliberately asked for the return of CoD2 to the upcoming CC6 LAN. There still seems to be a sign which shows that teams are in no way of choosing between either CoD5, CoD4 and CoD2. It is however the most important question which remained unanswered and unsure for many of us browsing the nets and playing the games, whether CoD2 would be the new game. Some teams long for CoD2, whilst CoD4 has relatively much been on the move in terms of teams joining multigaming organisations.

Ironically multigaming organisations normally do not influence the decision of teams of which games to play. A team would not play a game against it will because the organisation would like the team to do so. The economic state could not be a factor influencing the steps. It wouldn't be because many found their love of their life at valentines day. So what would it be?

Activision. Activision, a superb large organisation releasing instalments of Call of Duty as if they are buying food for their fish, have decided to do so. They do not tend to move with the competitive players - whereas their amount might be 500.000, in comparison to the other gamers which tend to be up to a few ten millions. The step, if it would be in your hands, would be logical as well if you would be working or even be the boss of Activision. Sell 60 million copies of CoD5 for an average of 60 euros a copy, and yea you win.
